Soil?
Caniapiscau National Park has variety of soils, although our main type of soil in Caniapiscau National Park is Cryosolic soil, which has an average temperature of 0 degrees Celsius, resulting in permafrost conditions. Cryosolic soil is mostly found in the Arctic. In the summer, the permafrost is melted which leads to saturated, semi fluid soil.
Vegetation?
There is a wide variety of vegetation in Caniapiscau National Park, we lie in the Boreal and Taiga Forests region of vegetation. Some of the vegetation we have are the

· Jack
Pine trees
· Paper
Birch Trees
· Trembling Aspin Trees.
These are all beautiful trees that give Caniapiscau National Park a stunning landscape, and we put all efforts to keep our vegetation alive and healthy.

Eco-Zone?
Caniapscau National Park lies in the Taiga Shield Eco-Zone, one of the most beautiful Eco-Zones in Canada! The Russian term "taiga" refers to the northern edge of the Boreal coniferous forest. With an area of over 1.3 million square kilometres, the Taiga Shield is one of Canada's largest ecozones. One-third of it lies in the Northwest Territories. The total population of the Eco-Zone is 38 000 116 people and a GDP of 1.1 billion Canadian Dollars. Settlements along the coast arose during the time of the fur trade, but later settlement has been largely dictated by mining and tourism. Although there is much land that is untouched and undeveloped in the Eco-Zone which is being used for the Hunting and Trapping of animals. Hunting and trapping of animals is strictly prohibited in the confinements of the park.
